Bureau of Indian Standards grants license to the manufacturers to use or apply Standard Mark with unique R-number, through registration based on self-declaration of conformity for goods and articles as per Indian Standards.
As on date (Dec-2020), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) has notified 63 different products that are mandatory under CRS. Similarly, Ministry of New and Renewal Energy (MNRE) has notified 6 products.
